First Year Blues

Aint no topic to write something on
No mind either, no words or
Hollow eyes, blank thoughts, I’m sitting alone
Is this is what people give me credit for.

Rusty world, freaky girls, dusty dawns
They call it university; I call it a “WAR”
Rivalry here, clash there all belligerent borns
Polished to be nice, attractive talks but jealous cores

Every morning different time, order is gone
Bulky notes, empty pockets, credit hours
I may had a better life selling corns
Is this what your entry test burnt blood gets paid for

OHT’s, frequent quizzes, semesters near daggers drawn
Last day preps, syllabus a tidal bore
This organization, that chapter, joining is fond
Schedule clashing with classes, isn’t it a headache? Or more?

Attendance hauls, seminar calls all hopes torn
Market attractions, aromatic food that is sweet ‘n’ sour
Lingering fellows for delights, but have these GRADES to mourn
Scattered campus, blind alleys and open doors.

I came here with hopes for a career adorned
Although it’s messy, but doesn’t get me bored
Coloured clothes, red, blue, pink and fawn
I cheer this relaxation ” atleast there is something to adore”

Morning starts with a question “what to Don?”
Have to think in the bed even in the shower
Haphazard decisions as I hear the busses’ horn
Just trying to be positive, it seems NIIT is increasing my thinking power

What ever it is, this is our stand to be proud upon
Hope it will get better as the time goes over
Looking forward to new campus to have its lights on
In the middle of nowhere where there will be nothing to do, except to rover

New people form different, separate forms.
Lucky are those who found themselves old group of fours
Haughty seniors, flaming attitudes even hotter than the burning bronze
Let the new batch come we will empty our built up sour

They say this is the system, this is the norm
We will not forget this experience even its smallest pores
We chill out; enjoy the ragging, talk hours on the phone
We will be the next platform on which this institution will “ROAR”.
