A Soldier’s Letter Back Home

Bye! But before that hi!
Let warm wishes be sprinkled upon thy
My eyes are wet, misty is the sky
Is this moment real or just another lie

I’m coming back to you
From the depth of the Nile
Impossible has happened, like a bolt from the blue
The news is so pleasing yet startling for a while

War is over, defying the laws as death passes by
Every night I was doubtful of about tomorrow
But I guess I’m not ready to die
May be I’m not supposed to leave you in sorrows

No more is the smoke, no weapons, no fires
Just peace, complete silence and a red ground
Breaking the silence are some cherish cries
Gathered with somewhat that appears to be mourning sound

I am sorry for one thing my dear
Can’t bring you anything but dirt
I’m sure to see you happy not in tears
Cause just for you I’m not leaving the earth

The journey back home seems too long
Even longer than the sinister war
Can’t wait to see you and others along
But coming home is worth waiting for

Feels like a decade
Since I slept for a while
But that’s how life is made for us
Rock solid heart but lives fragile

Don’t know in what situation are we
Bringing smiles to some, grief to others
Taking corpses of people once one of thee
Mending some while breaking some lovers

Can’t help day dreaming
You waiting for me, hope abating
Suddenly a piece of paper leaves you gleaming
Smiling in the air, repeatedly narrating

It’s your love that kept me going
Even through the hardest scenarios
I’ll keep myself going
If it remained like this…. adios
