Trekking Equipment in Pakistan

trekking gearIf you are looking for trekking gear in Pakistan, here are some of the shops i managed to scrap off from the internet. I have been into trekking since 2010, though a newbie, i have been with experienced travelers and roamed around in markets with them. In any city idea places to look for trekking/adventure gear are: Sunday/Wednesday/Friday Markets. (Jumma, Mangal, Itwar Bazar) and Wholesale markets. You may also look for stuff in the landa bazar [second hand], you may get your hands gear in excellent condition, only for peanuts. Since i am a resident of Rawalpindi i can suggest few places i have visited personally and have found them quite useful:

  • Chota bazar, Saddar Rawalpindi
  • Army bazar, near bao mohalla Rawalpindi – for sleeping bags, tents etc
  • Raja Bazar/ Urdu Bazar, whole sale market variety of things
  • Itwar Bazar H-9 Islamabad – New/Used stuff. Got my hands on some very useful stuff over here.
  • The North Face, Islamabad – Light hiking gear – this is not the real north face outlet.
  • Aab-para market Islamabad
  • Barkat market Saddar, Rawalpindi

P.s: Peshawar and Quetta are gold mines if you are looking for interesting stuff. The downside is, it is not always safe to travel to these areas. You can find the same stuff, In Islamabad Itwar Bazar and in Lahore at Neela Gumbad and ferozpur road, but it isnt that cheap here.
